Next June my daughter(18) and i are planning on going to Paris, any hotel recommendations?

Dear susiel,
I'm glad you found this forum.
But let me tell you this: Your question is very general, not giving us any clues (what's your budget, how long will you be in Paris, do you have interests/what area).

I suggest you type in Paris and hotel in the text search box and wade through all that information.
Also take a look at the hotel section at the rants and raves.
And perhaps read through a description of the arrondissements like this: http://www.parisnet.net/parismap.html

Then you're very welcome to come back and ask for certain hotels or areas.

Have fun planning!

My mom, sister and I all stayed in the Grand Hotel Leveque on the Rue Cler in Paris last summer. It is just a 2 star hotel, but very nice, the street was enchanting and the area was safe. It is within walking distance of the Eiffel tower and the metro (the best way to get around the city). You can find recommendations for this hotel in one of Rick Steves' guide books and you can book your room ahead of time with the hotel over the phone, the front desk speaks english. Good luck and have fun!

Kascha has given good advice, it is helpful to know your budget ,etc. You'll find most replies will recommend somewhere in the Marais,6th, or the 7th.

There are several trains per day to cannes, some direct , some with changes in Toulon or Marsailles. Try the website . www.sncf.com for schedules..though it might be too soon for 2004 schedules to be posted it will give you some ideas.

Let's hear back from you

My husband and I enjoy Hotel Residence Monge in the Latin Quarter. We book on line and recently paid 95 euro per night for a wonderful, clean, modern room. Request a room with a balcony overlooking the street for an added bonus.

Good luck in your search.
