Any inexpensive hotels in the center of Paris?

Did anybody stay in Sainte-Marie (how is the area itself, is it safe at night)?
What about Roubaix, Tiquetonne or hotel du Sejour?

Thanks!

lovetotravel27, if you enter "Tiquetonne" and then later, "Roubaix" into the forum search box, you will find your answers. I don't recall anyone discussing a stay at the Hotel du Sejour in recent times...

Also, check on Tripadvisor.

Lastly, look at Hotel de Nesle in the 6th, an excellent area

Hotel du Commerce in the 5th.

I don't know about the hotels you mentioned, but if you are still looking for an inexpensive hotel, we stayed at the Hotel du Champ de Mars in the 7th and loved it. The price was about 79 euros per night. We had a great view of the top of the Eiffel Tower from our room.

Review Rick Steves' book on Paris for his recommended budget hotels. Then research them further on this site/Frommer's and/or the internet/trip advisor. Another place to cross reference is the Sleeps in Paris book by Sandra Gustafson (sp?). Your local library may have copies of these.

We found the Grand Hotel Leveque (mentioned in multiple sources and a fav. of Steves) was a great inexpensive choice for our needs at 91 euros for a twin bedded room/private toilet and shower w/ the room's windows facing the pedestrian only street. Very quiet at night. My dad and nephew enjoyed the same hotel (features/price/location) last summer.

Thanks to everybody! We are looking at around $100 a night in perfect, quiet location.

The Hôtel de France on the Boulevard de la Tour Maubourg in the 7th has what you're looking for starting at about 75€ a night for a double.

Define inexpensive. Hotel Andrea is on the edge of the Maurais (about 4 blocks from Notre Dame) and runs about 82E for a double. Grea location, clean, recently remodeled, elevator.
