Paris Hotel with a Toddler
I've read previous threads on Paris with kids and have taken the advice into consideration. We are going to be in Paris for a few days in June and our then 2 1/2 year-old will be with us--that is not negotiable. And we are definitely going. I'd love any recommendations for kid friendly hotels in the center of Paris. We'd really love to find a hotel with a suite, like an Embassy Suites type room--separate living and sleeping areas. Any recommendations would be so helpful. We've been to Paris before, but not with our toddler. Thanks!

Sam,

I'm very partial to Rive Gauche. There's a nice hotel, the Residence des Arts, that has nice suites, and also the Hotel Madison.

http://www.residence-des-arts.com/pages_gb/def_sommaire.htm

http://www.hotel-madison.com/home.html

However, they are hotels, that have some suites, while Embassy Suites are suites only. The closest to Embassy Suites would be the Citadines apart hotel chain.

Regards,

S

I think the Residence des Arts in St-Germain and the Citadines apartmenthotels are good ideas. Here are a couple more: the Hotel Residence Henri IV in the Latin Qtr has suites, a great location and reasonable price, http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75005henri2.htm
Also, here is another one but it's really just like the Citadines or Orion type places (modern apartment-hotels): www.villa-luxembourg.com
I am pretty sure that some of the Libertel hotels have suites, I don't recall which ones, but you can check their web site, they are a nice French hotel chain: www.libertel-hotels.com And, finally, yet another "apartment-hotel" type place is the Residence HOme Plazza Bastille (www.home-plazza.com). There are a few more very expensive places I know of, some 4-star hotels around Champs-Elysees, but I don't remember the names (maybe Residence du Roy?). Here's another hotel that has suites in St-Germain, the l'Academie:
http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75007academie2.htm

Sam: I'm in the same situation (going in April with a 2.5 year old). We've reserved a triple at the Timhotel Louvre. Don't know much about it, except that it is a 2 star, good location and price. I don't think it will be fancy, and it is not a suite, but that's my 2 cents.

I found a couple more which have suites and could be good choices, and they are in the 7th arr which might be a nice area with a child: the Hotel de la Bourdonnais (www.webscapades.com) and the Hotel de Suede http://www.paris-tourism.com/suede-saintgermain/

Me, I'd go for the Bourdonnais or the Hotel Henri IV for "charm" and location. I don't know what any of these hotels' suites consist of, you'll have to ask, as sometimes suite hotels are really oriented more towards business travelers and the other part of the room has a desk, etc.
