Our New Years reservations were just cancelled by the Hotel du Bresil in the 5th arrondissement - buyer beware! And at this point, we are unable to find another room in ANY hotel!

We had shortened our stay (via a fax) to 2 days instead of 3 ...there was no minimum stay required. After recieving a polite response that because of their "requirements" they no longer had reservations for us, I called, and the desk clerk said that many people had shortened their stays and the owner was "very mad". We offered to pay for the 3 nights anyway, still no go. <BR>Still looking for lodging... <BR>

Anne, <BR>Try calling Best Western International Reservations - they have a 800 number and lots of hotels in Paris.

All I know is that I was reading an article recently on suggestions for where to spend NY eve, and for Paris, it said there were still plenty of rooms available in 3 and 4 star hotels. Surprised me as I had read the entire city was already booked up a long time ago. I forget where it was, I think in either Conde Nast Traveler magazine or maybe the Wash Post or NYTimes newspapers, but it didn't give any specific suggestions of hotel names anyway, so it wouldn't be of much help. Anyway, if it's any consolation, keep trying, maybe you have to go a little more upscale than the Hotel du Bresil to find something vacant.

This was our experience last March. My <BR>daughter had made our reservations over <BR>the internet for Le Vert Galant. She <BR>had faxed them credit card info and <BR>asked for confirmation. They faxed her <BR>their "happy to accomodate you" form <BR>which requested your charge # and info - <BR>she then called them and the gentleman <BR>with whom she spoke - in perfect English - said "I told you you had reservations, why are you calling me." <BR>(this in December) All was fine - we <BR>thought - until 2 days before departure, <BR>my ticket agent called me to say he had <BR>tried to deliver our opera vouchers to Le Vert galant and was informed that we <BR>did not have a reservation and NEVER had <BR>a reservation. So Hotel Boulevard came <BR>to the rescue and that is how we came to <BR>stay at Hotel Floridor. It certainly <BR>would have not been our choice but we <BR>ended up enjoying it. We were told that <BR>they apparently use this practice to "dump" and resell at more money if the <BR>opportunity arises. This time, we have <BR>a written confirmation at hotel de l'Avre which I hope will be wonderful. <BR>I hope you find a room. Have you tried <BR>all the available web sites? Good luck. <BR> <BR>
