I have just this very moment bought my rail ticket.

So one way or another I'll be there.

How will we recognise each other? I'll be the one wearing pyjamas and swearing.

Hi Gina, and thanks for all your organising, but I'm afraid that due to our limited time in Paris and the multiple wishes of three other family members I may have to forego the lunch on Friday 26th.

I do hope you all have a wonderful time and will be thinking of you while wandering around Paris (or Versailles not sure which yet!!)

Thought I should let you know earlier rather than last minute.

Thanks again Gina and best wishes everyone

Well, 9 days before I leave and I haven't even started packing yet - or done laundry, or booked ticket -but I do have the two apartments to stay in.

trying to make up my mind whether I will make a little side trip for a few days to Athens from Nice and can't find any airline that goes directly. (frown)

Anyone have any idea how warm or cold Paris will be in mid - to late Sept? that would definitely help my packing

And does anyone have the address of Lena et Mimile Restaurant ?

Mariebut, sorry you won't be joining us, but I understand what you mean about limited time and so much to see.

Mahya2, we're down to 13 days and, like you, are wondering about the weather. We'll check a few days before leaving and pack accordingly.

gracejoan3, thanks for posting the link for Lena et Mimile.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, just look for a surly man in PJs, swearing up a storm - that would be our own CW

We're now at 11 people. See you all soon!

To see a 10-day forecast for weather in Paris, go to

weather.com

and type in Paris, France.
Looks like good weather coming up!

But maybe not by tunnel. Or ferry. Or airplane.

Gina,

I just invited Stu and Ellen Dudley to join us..is that OK?

They will be here next week. We are getting together for dinner one evening.

I told him to check this site to find out everything..I guess he will then decide..hope the tattoos don't frighten them away!! Ha!

Thanks,

Joan

Joan, no problem. Would love to have them join us!

I thought of you yesterday as I watched the Popemobile arrive at Notre Dame on TV. I don't blame you for staying out of the area - what a mob!

You posted on the other thread that the nights and mornings have been cool, but the afternoon yesterday looked glorious. That's the kind of weather I hope to see while we're there.

Just wanted to bring this to the top for those attending the GTG in Paris next Friday at Chez Lena et Mimile.

I know some have already left, or are already there (Joan), but for the rest of you, we'll see you a week from today!

Hi Gina,

I will be there!!

Having a great time. You have probably read my postings.

Warmer today...these temps are what are predicted for next 10 days..just depends on the breeze. A scarf does feel good. I bought another today..curly type...

I am glad that I brought my leather coat. I removed the zip-out lining. I also have a Talbots (Nordstrom has similar)black raincoat type.
thing that zips into itself.

See you all next week..if I can do anything, please let me know..

a bientot.....Joan

I'm a bit of a doubt. I've twisted my knee.

I'm hopefull - I don't mind hobbling about. I'll make my mind up on Thursday morning. As it happens, thanks to the tunnell fire I can get a full refund even on my cheap as chips ticket.

I'd still rather go as I've rather got my heart set on it.

I'll let peeps know if I am an invalid.

ps No jokes about my walking stick, or I'll rap you round the ankles, you cheeky scamps.

So sorry to hear that Cholmondley - Get yourself on Cataflam a.s.a.p.
It is kinder on the stomach than other anti-inflams and does not need a perscription (well, down here in Africa anyway!)
Good Luck , I hope you make it. I know everyone else does as well!

That's a prescription only medicine here (called Voltarol).

I have any number of pills and ointments. I've taken today off and am spending it horizontally.

I do really hope to be OK. It's an old war wound that flares up from time to time, and usually goes away as quickly as it comes.

So as I say, hopefully.....

Also - paris is dead flat which is a help.

Oh, CW, so sorry to hear about your injury! Stay horizontal and take care of yourself, because we are really looking forward to spending time with you on Friday. Who else is going to keep us in line?

I'm just finishing up some last minute stuff here at home because we leave this afternoon. Tomorrow at this time, we'll be wandering the streets of Paris, marveling at the fact that we're finally there!
