Paris flat or budget nice hotel

Doen't everyone want the perfect hotel or studio in Paris?? Does anyone have any ideas. We are thinking of our anniversary in late September. But, we just heard that it is convention month and stay away. Any tips??? Thank you.

there are conventions just about all year in Paris, but Sept is one of the busiest, that's true. I've been there in Sept and did not notice anything due to that, the only problem is you have to book a hotel way ahead of time, that's all. For a lot of conventions, the people at them are not typical tourists so it doesn't have much affect on other things, if that's what you mean, they are Europeans on business. You have plenty of time, I would not change plans at all if that's when you want to go, I'd just start deciding on a hotel and get a reservation. I certainly did not think it more crowded than a peak tourist month, like July, but perhaps I wasn't paying attention.

The weather in late September is usually very nice (it can always rain); there are still lots of tourists (the tourist season now seems to extend into mid-October) as well as the business people who come for the conventions and exhibitions. As Christina said, it's no worse than July (except it's not as hot, and the French are back from vacation). <BR>How long do you plan to spend in Paris? What's your budget? Do you want to be in a very busy area (maybe on a quiet side street) or do you feel comfortable enough in Paris to stay in a quiet neighborhood, off the beaten path? When you say 'studio', do you mean a full-service apart-hotel, a luxurious penthouse in the 8eme, or an artist's loft?

Elvira <BR> <BR>Thanks, looking for about 5 nights and would prefer a quiet location in a centralized area. We truly would like to go at the least expensive possible for the nicest surroundings - I suppose 100.00 won't suffice???? Anyway - a B&B would be nice or a kitchenette area if possible for morning coffee and baguette. Thanks for help. <BR>

I'm sure Elivra will be back, and with some very useful info...but in the meantime Sarah...I would just say that $100 in Paris buys A LOT more lodging than you would expect -certainlly waaay more than in New York, certainly London!, and even better than anything in Chicago (for instance)...I guess it's just the sheer # of hotel rooms (don't know about the current dollar=franc equation, but it seems pretty favorable.) Anyway, just wanted to assure you that a $100 room in Paris can be found in a good location, and can be very, very pleasant (and clean).

If you want a simple studio, check <BR>http://www.citadinesaparthotels.com/paris.htm <BR>http://www.apartmenthotels.com/ <BR>These two will rent for less than a week. <BR>This is the source I used for my apartment last fall: <BR>http://www.albany.net/~nracnyfr/parisapt.html#STUDIO IN THE 6TH ARRONDISSEMEN <BR> <BR>$100 will buy you a very nice hotel. If you do a search on this forum for <BR>Paris hotels you'll get a lot of great recommendations! <BR> <BR>This is the hotel we use when we are in Paris: <BR>http://www.franceway.com/hotels/delhys/ <BR>
