Paris Christmas windows 2020

Okay, here is the annual video of the Christmas windows.

The complete report is here -- but it's not complete yet because I have not seen the Galeries Lafayette Christmas tree yet:

Kerouac, thank you so much! Each time you've posted the last five years has been a prelude for my arrival to see the windows in person. Sadly of course, I won't be in Paris this holiday season. Your video has brought a smile to my face and great anticipation for a return in 2021.

Thanks Kerouac. Always delightful. Especially this year. We can use all the brightness we can get.

The deparment stores have been standing in stoic silence since they were closed at the end of October (after being closed for two months in the spring). They only reopened yesterday, which was also the first day that I was authorized to go that far to see them (we were restricted to just one kilometer and one hour of wandering for futile reasons until then). The windows themselves were inaugurated about a week ago. I suppose that only workers in the area and the homeless had exclusive viewing rights until then..

Thank you! I haven't viewed it yet but so glad you posted. I so miss seeing the windows. Great timing to see them. Were many people there?

Thanks for giving us our annual treat, Kerouac, especially as it's probably the closest I'll get to any shop windows this year.

Thank you, Kerouac, here's another sheltered-in-place window shopper who enjoys your annual Parisian fix.

Thank you so much...this would have been the tenth year to see them, but, alas, has become the first one to miss them. Now you have brought them to us in all their beauty. A wonderful Christmas gift!!!

Thanks for everybody's kind comments. I will try to get to the Galeries Lafayette Christmas tree this week. I might even make it to the Bon Marché windows.

kerouac, I've never visited Bon Marché, so I hope you do get there to see their display. I have an interest because Bon Marché's founder comes from the part of France we visit most often, and because I read Zola's novel Ladies' paradise based on this department store.

Our thanks to you also. You have a good eye and present the joy of the season beautifully.
We are looking forward to your view of the tree at Galeries Lafayette. It’s always so stunning

Last year we were there a week too early and itge tree wasn’t up yet. Oh to be in Paris at Christmas!
