We've previously stayed at this budget hotel https://www.hotelgoezeput.be/en which is located in a quiet and convenient location mid-way between the train station (we arrived and left by train) and the historic centre.

In Bruges we stayed at Setola's B&B. On a quiet side street just off the main square, the location can't be beat and the rooms are large a very clean. The hosts are kind and full of info. A good breakfast is served.
In Haarlem Stempels is a boutique hotel also just off the Grote Marktt across from the cathedral and down the street from Philharmonic Hall. The public areas are beautifully restored to their old glory and the sleeping rooms are large, modern and have the most comfortable beds ever. Breakfast is extra but well worth the price. with a large selection of top quality items well prepared.

It's been about ten years but we stayed at the Hotel Aragon in Bruges. We were there for two nights and that was ample time for us to explore and enjoy although as we came from Amsterdam where we had spent time in the Rijksmuseum and we then stopped in Antwerp for the Cathedral, we did not get to any of the art museums in Bruges. We had time on the Thursday afternoon when we arrived, a full day on Friday in which we did a canal boat ride as we had been rained out on our plans to do that in Amsterdam and Saturday morning as we left mid-day to drive back to the Amsterdam airport to return our rental car and head to Israel on a Saturday night flight. That plan allowed us to stop at the Hague and visit the Mauritshaus which was soon to close for a major renovation.
The Hotel Aragon was immaculately clean and we had an oversized room with a king sized bed, walkable to all and an outstanding large complimentary breakfast buffet.

It's been too many years for me to say much about Brussels and I've never been to Ghent but if this is the first time in Amsterdam, in my opinion, two nights there isn't enough time. There is so much to see and do - the museums, walking along the canals, canal boat rides, the Anne Frank Haus, Dam Square, the Museum of Dutch Resistance, the Jewish Museum with the historic synagogues, Rembrandhaus and so much more.

We (family of 4 - girls 16 and 19) stayed in Bruges for 3 nights and loved it. We had two full days - traveled in from Amsterdam in the afternoon and left for Amboise in the am. Another day wouldn't have hurt. I think you need at least 3-4 full days in Amsterdam. We stayed at the Hotel Aalders and really enjoyed our stay there. It's in the museum district. Haven't been to Ghent and my 2 days in Brussels was the first stop of my trip 25 years ago so. No real details, just trying to get my bearings then. Enjoy!
