Shellio,

Glad to hear it. I think it's a nice combination of inventive and traditional. And I love how patient the staff is with my pathetic French. Hope to be back in Paris in March. Thank you for reassuring me!

I second the recommendation for Ma Bourgogne. We ate outside under the arches there in November and were so warm we took our coats AND sweaters off. The atmosphere is great at night, especially if it is a little foggy.

The steak tartare was the best my husband (the raw meat eater in the family) had ever tasted. I tried it and liked it- once I got past the idea of eating raw meat. The owner came out and talked to us about his technique for making it. He was very proud of his tartare- very cute!

I think the place is in Rick Steves. We were seated next to an American couple who had his book. I usually hate that because I want to hear people speaking French around me, but they turned out to be really cool.
