Paris Bike tour - Bikeabouttours vs Fat tire bike tours

Hi there -
We definitely have a bike tour in our plans (with kids 11 and 8). I have seen lots of post re: Fat Tire Bike tours, but just started to see some about BikeAboutTours. Any know of any pros or cons or differences?

thnx!

Hi,
Can only give my opinion on Fat Tire bike tours, I was in Paris on a solo trip this past April and decided to do their trip to Monet's home & gardens, it was excellent. We trained to Vernon, visited the open air market to pick up lunch supplies then rode to a lovely park along the river and ate. From there we continued biking to Monet's home. We had free time to tour once we arrived. I had a great time, was impressed with the company and their employees. Wanted to do their ride in Paris but didn't get around to it, also many people in my tour group had done FT's segway tour of Paris and said it was a must do. Sorry I can't comment on Paris Bike tours.

Hope this helps,
Susan

We did a Fat Tire Bike tour a few years ago to Versaille. Took the train part way..biked part way. It was great. The guides are all American so they all speak English.

Can't comment on the BikeAboutTours.

I also can only comment on the Fat Tire tour, but my daughter and I loved it. The guide was American, so no language barrier for us, but he also knew lots of Paris information, history, trivia, etc. In addition, I liked the fact that a one-hour Bateaux Mouches ride was included. We had been planning to do that another day, so the combination of biking and boat riding (with wine provided) was just perfect.

Did the segway tour with FatTire. Very good, one machine broke down and the staff were fantastic, running around sorting the guy out and making sure we all had a good time (even the daft texan women who struggled to learn and disappeared up a one way street)

Thanks for your replies. I don't think I have seen any bad reports about Fat Tire, so it certainly seems like a good option (will probably stay as our default). Anyone with any other insight to BikeAboutTours - or reasons to look beyond Fat Tire?

thanks!
