Paris bar - the green linnet

Ok. So my wife is in Paris.
And I told her that I like the Green Linnet bar.
And she may go there.
With my daughter.
And now comes my problem : are the barmen sworn t secrecy about their client's behaviour, like the priests are ?
I told them to give my regards to the barman - somebody I quite like.... Is it really such a good idea ?

For those who don't have this problem, here is the address of my favourite bar in Paris :
http://www.thegreenlinnet.com/french.html

my second favourite bar is 'le bar de la fin du monde' in front of Hotel de ville - but for quite younger people.

If I were in your place, I would deny any knowledge of any establishment called the green anything. It´s too late now but documenting your knowledge of such a place, by posting its website, will offer your possibly future ex-spouse, all of the conclusive evidence she may require.

Flowers, possibly chocolates, may be in order to diffuse a potentially distasteful turn of events.

I used to be a bartender - we are sworn to secrecy for life, just like priests. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I know the people who work in the Green Linnet, and they are all professionals/priests. The only thing your wife and daughter will have to worry about is trying to find a seat, and worrying about how much their bar tab will cost. And if they go on Quiz Night, better make sure they've got their thinking caps on.

They'll have a great time, and won't hear a word about anything you're afraid you might have done to embarrass yourself - just make sure to check if your favorite barman is working, because he's definitely the best of the bunch.

DH worked as a barman for a while, supplementing his starting salary. One regular came in most nights. Tuesday and Thursday with his GF, and answering to the name Jeff, Wednesday and Saturday with his wife, as Dave, and the other nights with his mates, and called Bill.
None of the bar staff ever made a mistake with his name, and he got away with it for a couple of years, until his wife turned up on a Thursday with her friends for a night out, while he was away on business. Oops.

Good barman are like priests, but first find your good barman.
You should have recommended somewhere else if your barman has any dark secrets on you!

I think, yes, professional barmen are discreet, the better to keep their clientele. However, there certainly must be some less professional in their behavior, and maybe best to simply have no secrets.

You know that bartenders are among the most enthusiastic police informants.

great story Hets, though I don't think you can really blame the barman who let the cat out of the bag for that one.

Yes indeed... Got her on the line, she didn't go because it was already past midnight when she left the restaurant.
Now I'm worried, in what kind of restaurant did they go to ?

Women !

Ann, I don't think the barman let any cat out of any bag.

I read it that wife came in on a night Jeff was there with
his GF. A night Dave told her he would be away on business.

And I agree - great story.

I could be the mom or grandmom of all the barmen who work there, but still, I would love to go there for a quick drink. Your family should try another time. And please let us know how they like it.

Some people would say the bartenders at The Green Linnet are almost famous.

They swore the waiter to secrecy.
