Paris Area - "An Yair"
Hi, My FIL talks about an area in Paris where he was stationed after the liberation of Paris (guarding POWs). He mentions Clichy and St. Cloud, but the one he seems to have spent the most time was an area he pronounces as "An Yair." I think it might be in Clichy area.
I'd like to do a little research, but I'm not sure what the name of this area might be. I done some check on maps, etc., so far I haven't come up with anything. Any ideas?

Thank you, thank you! I am going to look into the website and with this info might be able to print some pictures from the site for him.
He's not at all reluctant to talk of his time in Paris, so I think he would really enjoy this. In fact, as he gets older (he's 95), he seems to like to talk about it even more.
Also, he has a drawing (charcoal?) of my MIL and my DH (as an infant) done by one of the German POWs probably in August/September of 1944. I would like to indicate where it was drawn on the back, so this should be a great help.
Again, thank you.
