SA- I just returned from 2 weeks in Paris where I rented a wonderful apartment through Panache rental.Their address is www.panacherental.com. They have many different apartments they represent throughout the city. Ours was located on the corner of the Blvd. St. Germain and the Rue St. Jacques and it was delightful. Everyhting was as it was represented and the local manager who arranged airport transportation for us met us at the apartment when we arrived and was very helpful. It was a great experience and I will definitely use Panache again. They are based in Massachusetts and were extremely knowledgable and provided excellent service and references. I have several other names that I can give you also as I did extrensive research before choosing the apartment I did. The location was awesome and we were able to shop at local markets and come home and cook up the catch of the day. Feel free to email me if you have further questions. Julie

Go to www.parisperfect.com We have rented this beautiful apartment in the 7th arr across from the Eiffel tower. Madelyn is originally from the US but went to Paris and met her husband Willem (a cardiovascular surgeon) they rent beautiful apartments filled with antiques. I am going in November and I feel more comfortable with this rental than any of the the hundreds I investigated. Have fun

I checked a number of them out a couple of years ago, including several in person. Most were OK apartments, but I just couldn't justify the cost for them. I find that most 3 star hotels are far more "luxurious" in decor, style, and appearance, that it doesn't seem worthwhile for me to pay nearly double the price for an apartment. On the other hand if you are looking for something with a couple of bedrooms for a number of people (more than 2) and if cooking is really important to you, then I would think they are fine. I got good recommendations from people who had used Chez Vous.

My experience in the past has been that the hotels rroms tend to be very small & since we have done all the 'touristy' things in Paris we want to just try & kind of live there. In addition, my daughter will only be 8 months old & will still need naps, etc. so we need some room + I WANT to be able to cook there as well. Mostly though it is a 'space' issue. Thx for the info.
