I even showed him the bottle!! I am now packing for my move to the charming Fleurie tomorrow.

I have selected my dates for next Spring. The weather could have been better this year. A couple spectacular days last week and the next few days maybe! Can never tell about the weather. Anyway, I will arrive on May 2 and depart on May 30 next Spring. I will be back in the fall, arriving on Nov. 2 and departing on Dec. 14. I still have a week full of many plans.

a bientot...

Mimi,

I ate the whole thing today. You need to put the place on your list! I could kick myself for not taking pictures. The only free time I have is tomorrow noon or evening and can't do that again, so soon!

I ate too much at Les Cocottes last night, too!

Joan, only one week left! Does that feel tragic to you, or will you have had your fill for the moment?

Joan and In love with Paris -
Thank you for the info on the Navigo. It is hard to keep up with all the changes! Can you purchase this pass at any Metro stop?

tod, I'm jealous you will be able to recline on your flight! I am stuck in the coach seats and find it completely impossible to sleep sitting up!

Have you given your pigeon a name? It is looking quite possessively at the camera!

Yes, you can purchase the plastic card at any station which has an attendant. Then you can refill the card either at a machine or from one of the attendant windows.

Kerouac,

The time goes quickly. It seems to take about two weeks to really feel like a part of Paris. I always have thoughts of doing/seeing far more than I ever do. Plans change along the way. I always have that next trip already planned before I leave, so I know I will be back.

Going to my corner boulangerie this morning and will be off on the 69 bus. I will see what, if anything going on at Spring 2. Try to reach Daniel for all.

Moving to the "Fleurie" this afternoon. I will have different views outside. It is only a block away.

It is going to be a beautiful day in Paris today!!

a bientot...

I did go by Spring 2 this morning. Just as before, no activity whatsoever.

I moved this afternoon to the Fleurie. What a nice apt. this is...very, very roomy. Bigger than some of the PP 2 bedroom apts.A good floor plan if two coupled traveling together as the french doors from the entry can be closed off. The normal half bath is down the hall and outside the master bedroom. The master bath is beyond the master bedroom. The bedroom is veery spacious. A great kitchen for those who cook..separate washer and dryer. I will take home clean clothes!

I purposely did not eat lunch today. I made reservations at Chez Les Anges for this evening. I was there last year and found it enjoyable. Will give it another try. I will take my camera.

a bientot...

Hi Joan,

So happy to hear that you are having a wonderful trip. I love hearing all of the positive comments on the Fleurie apartment since I will be renting it next year.

Safe Travels.

janiekins,

You will love the Fleurie. How many in your group? It is so spacious!

I just used the washer and dryer..separate units. So often hear about them not being very good. Nothing wrong with these. You just do smaller loads than at home. I just did two pairs of jeans. I took them out not quite dry.

Lots of closet, storage space. You can't help but like it. If you have any questions, just ask and I will try to answer.

a bientot..

Joan did go into the kitchen of the Richebourg to get the Taittinger out of the refrigerator. I witnessed this with my own eyes. Does that count?

OOW! Are we jealous. Champagne goes with everything!
My late husband served it to me for breakfast on special days.

There was also and amuse bouche..a crabmeat thing.
The restaurant is quite nice, very good service. A nice meal and evening.

A view from my living room windows:

Roberts: The kitchen is nice. I do have a bottle of water, some orange juice and some milk in the refrigerator. PP includes those in a welcome basket! The also included a bottle of wine and some crackers of some sort! Maybe I will attract a new pigeon!

I had a leftover bottle of pink champagne and 2 bottles of red wine from weekender's visit. When I moved on Sunday, I donated them to the PP staff.I told them not to let it interfere with their work! The group working on Sunday had a late afternoon party, at their office!

I think I have a cold..my nose keeps running!

I had a note from Kate who joined me earlier on some dining adventures. She is an emergency room RN. She said it is wild..all who have the slightest cough are rushing in asking if they have swine flu!

a bientot...

I'm sorry to hear about your cold. The nice thing about Pharmacies in Paris is that you just walk in there and tell them the problem and they figure out what you need and sell it to you. Very helpful!

Hi Joan,

My husband and I are just waiting for our flights for next year before we rent the Fleurie. Remember me (Jane)? You have been very nice sending me messages on "that other" travel website regarding Paris Perfect Apartments.

I am working with Michelle at PP.

Glad to hear that you love the Fleurie.

Have a great weekend!

I went to the Ritz Bar Vendome for VE Day lunch. Went to bus stop and 69 and 87 not running today. My 42 was running. Some people were there from Canada and wondered what was what. I told them this was a holiday..they asked what holiday! It turns out they are staying in the PP Mrlot apt. They wanted to go to the Louvre. I told them to take the 42 and get off at Concorde. They did and I told them when to get off. They asked my about Versailles..if I liked it..I answered honestly, that I preferred Vaux le Vicomte.

I did enjoy Bar Vendome. Started with a Kir..it is a holiday, you know! I then had their soup of the day..good for my cold! I had the cesar with chicken and then a glass of chardonnay and then some dessert and a cafe creme...129 euros later and very pleased with all I caught my 42 bus for home!

Here are ssome pics:

When I arrived some were sitting in the garden area...I was asked if I wanted to sit out there, but weather iffy and I already have a cold. I chose a lovely table backing up to the garden area. I took the following picture after some people left out there..this big bird..looked like a crow..immediately arrived and was wasting no time in eating the nuts and whatever..quickly..look closely..you get a rear end view!

I am now looking at RER to go to Disny so Jean-Paul and Martine can pick me up there for our day in Sancerre area tomorrow...

a bientot...
