Amazingly, not only was this apartment still listed as of yesterday, but the agency sent me an e-mail asking me to review it!
(We had obviously booked another apartment, and then had to cancel our trip at the last minute due to a death in the family. Hoping to reschedule soon.)
So I "reviewed" the apartment by letting the agency know what happened. The agent then sent me an angry e-mail saying it wasn't her fault, and that I should have mentioned that she had graciously told me not to send in my deposit. I reminded her that the only reason she told me not to send in my deposit was I had noticed the posts in this thread, and that had I not asked, I'm sure we'd have arrived in Paris only to be shuffled somewhere else and/or chasing our deposit.
I won't copy our e-mail exchange unless one of you wants to see it.
So, thanks to those of you who took the time to warn us about this apartment and this agency.

I have held off for quite sometime to post our review of this apartment. The reason for my delay is I was hoping to receive our refund of our security deposit of 200 Euros before I gave my honest remarks on our experience here. However, since it has been almost nine months since we left the apartment in great condition and we have STILL NOT received our refund, I have lost hope and no longer feel the need to hold back. I'm assuming we are out this money and will have to chalk it up to a lesson learned.
Since it appears this unit is no longer available for rent, I won't discuss its attributes - which we found lacking. However, I will encourage any future renter to NEVER rent from this agency or our particular agent, Jeanette Coussin.
Jeanette Coussin has proven herself to be unreliable, dishonest, and a poor manager of finances. We have been repeatedly promised our refund, but have not seen a cent. At the start of this process, she was in constant contact and very reassuring that we would get our deposit back. However, after repeated inquiry as to the whereabouts of the money, she started to become less and less communicative. Now we will go months without hearing from her. There is always some story about the "owner" not being able to get the money to us for various reasons - illness, out of town, financial hardship, etc. For a while, we were very understanding. Nine months later, we are not, and her lack of action and management skills have cost us 200 Euros.
I would suggest that anyone considering doing business with Jeanette Coussin or For Your Best Time rental agency should NOT work with her or this agency. RUN - do not walk - RUN away! You'd have less frustration tossing your money down a Parisian sewer drain!

Yes, very true. Which was probably the reason for Links13 to post this in the post just before yours:

We stayed at this apartment in July 2007. My review of the apt.is somewhere up there... above this! We left Paris with Jeanette promising to refund us 200.00euros or a week at another apt.for the faulty facilities, and keeping us up the whole last night we stayed there. We never received a refund, and she was vague about the location of "other appartments".We got the same excuses of illness, stuck in train, still in Cannes hence no phone signal, etc. etc Although she responded a couple of times to our emails, she has since dropped out of sight. I held off writing about this because like you, I hesitate to blackball someone, who seemed likeable if a little ditzy (no crime). Moreover, life being so busy, I haven't visited this website till now....planning our next trip to Europe. I'm shocked to hear of your experiences.I'm sorry I didn't write this earlier and help warn some of you.
I guess it's just luck of the draw.So losing 200euros aside, I'm just going to remember the lovely croissants at Snack Time, the pastries at Gerard Moulot (all 1 min from the apt), the easy walk to the Seine and the absolute magic of Paris. I'm glad we chose to stay in that area because our first time in Paris lived up to all the expectations.
One more thing....we realised that she was reading what was posted here more or less daily. That was why she responded within a day when I wrote of no confirmation of receipt of the payment. Also within a day of my critique of the apartment, she called to say people were coming to mend the shower,(which by the way, didn't happen), and several other things. The timing was too coincidental.
Good luck to you travellers, and I'll try to contribute more frequently. It may help.
