I am staying at this apartment thru Haven in Paris in June, 2010.
Two people on the Trip Advisor forum have rented it and they absolutely loved it.

Hi Leely2,
I did so much homework in finding just the right Paris apartment for hubby and me. I had my choices narrowed down to a "Paris Perfect" apartment in the 7th and the "Haven in Paris" Colombier. I ended up choosing the Colombier.
We are there for one week then taking the train up to Baeyeux for 3 nights and then back to Paris for one more night staying at the Hotel de Londres Eiffel in the 7th - 6th Floor Eiffel Tower view! Can't wait.
I will post a report when I get back!

Janiekins-Looks like a great apartment. I looked into that one last year, but didn't book it as it was a bit over what I personally wanted to pay. But, I still have it bookmarked. It's in a really good area. Happy Travels!

Huh? Maybe I'm missing something here. But, you're asking strangers, to live at your residence and babysit your child in exchange for a room? If that's what I'm understanding, then before this post I thought I'd heard everything. But, this takes the cake. Happy Travels!

Wow, this thread has been around a long time! In case anyone is still using it for reference, I can back up the pro-RentParis reviews. I stayed in this apartment http://www.rentparis.com/appart-en-35.html and just loved it. Perfect size for two people (tho I was alone), very clean and quiet, and in a perfect area for sightseeing. One thing: it does have an elevator, but when I was there, the elevator was broken for about 3 weeks, so if you can't climb six flights of stairs, do not rent this apartment.
The RentParis guys were the best... very helpful, responsive and warm. Great experience.
SOPHIELUNEAU - We use Craigslist in America for things like that... not sure if it's as popular there. I would assume there are also au pair agencies that might have someone for you.

We rented a 2 BR apartment 4 boutarel on ile St. Louis from parisforrent.com (also known as FranceforRent.com) We dealt with Emeline. She was very helpful and the rental was easy. There is a seperate deposit you pay by check. It was refunded in full within 10 days as promised.
The location is fantastic and though we were up one flight of stairs, it was a very easy flight (and I had a bad knee replacement!). The sofa and bedroom chair of very hard - sitting on the pillows helps, but there really wasn't a good place to sit and relax. The beds and pillows are comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen except for the coffee maker and our bread and cheese breakfast and snacks. There were plenty of dishes, silverwear, etc, and some fruit and wine to greet us. I would recomment that written instructions be given on the washer/dryer. Our greeter, Dominique, was great and did go over it but after over 20 many hours in travel, we didn't retain. We were out all day each day and didn't want to bother him, so we were disappointed that we could not use it.
The apartment best part of the apartment was the location. Very easy to get everywhere and the island had lots of places to eat.
Thanks to the people on this thread, I was able to find reviews for parisforrent.com on other sites. I'm listing it here as a very good company to rent from. Expect 2 day responses on average.

This is a fantastic thread - thank you. On Christmas Day this year we decided to spend next Christmas in Paris as part of leaving Canada for the winter - we wanted to let our usual Christmas Day guests know early so they could make alternate arrangements for next year so we announced it at Christmas Dinner. So far the alternative arrangements appear to be joining us in Paris! (3 couples and counting)
I'm looking at many of these apartments (AnselmAdorne - just emailed Sheila and Bruno - hoping they are flexible on price for a long stay - apartment looks beautiful)

Hi Elizabeth. Which one are you looking at, the big one on Rue des Petits Champs or the slightly smaller one on Rue des Archives?
Just a sudden thought: if you mention my name, I don't think Sheila knows that I use Anselm as an Internet name. It's actually Ernie, as you will recollect from the Toronto GTGs.

Hi Ernie - no I didn't mention your name - holding that in reserve
It was this apartment

Now I'm going to go back and look at the other one you referenced....

I just found this site trying to review Paris Rental organizations. I am ready to book with Vacation in Paris Unit 226 - has anyone stayed there? How large is it?
I am also looking at Guest Services Lupine Apt.
Also, another contender is Paris Attitude #2022
Yes, I have been investigating extensively and this is my first time to rent an apartment overseas. (I have been to Paris several times and this time I will be staying for one month). I would appreciate any feedback in regards to experiences with these rental agencies. Merci!
