With the way the pandemic hit the travel industry, I was wondering what Paris Vacation Apartment rental companies are still in business. I thought there was a list on the forum somewhere but could not find it. So, I am looking for suggestions of companies so I can begin research to ensure the apartments are legal and have what I am looking for.
Any information would be appreciated. I am looking for a 1-bedroom apartment in an elevator building and IF POSSIBLE, with a separate washer and dryer unit. I know the last request may be not easy and I might have to drop it. Any neighborhood is fine within the city of Paris - so within the 20 areas. My budget is around 350 Euros per night but could go to 400 for the right spot.

Came back from Paris after 2 1/2 weeks through booking.com. I ALWAYS book an apt with at least a washer and my apt had a complete w/d unit and very easy to use. Lots of choices.

Residence Voute on booking.com. Gave it a 10. 12th ARR But 1/2 block from tram, bus, bus to airport. 1/2 block in other direction to a fabulous street of shops, vendors, food, banks. Apt size of a HI or similar hotel room. Extremely well done. Multiple units in a very secure bldg. I had 301. No elevator but stairs no problem. Neighbors very friendly. Mangement very accommodating as I had to leave early due to a knee injury and they offered me a unit on the ground floor. Unfortunately stairs not a problem but walking was, so had to come home.

I would go back there to that unit and others in the bldg in a heartbeat. Apt is very nicely decorated but I moved everything I was not going to use out of the way, up on shelves, etc, so not cluttered. Loved the desk. Wonderful place, great neighborhood and easy transportation options.

As Stu says above, Paris Perfect always is a good choice.

Ile St. Louis or Place Dauphine are the locations we like. We have stayed in hotels but our
apartment rentals (7 of them through the years) are what we like best.

We spent four weeks in this apartment and really enjoyed it: https://www.parisperfect.com/units/saint-amour Yes, it's registered. We liked that it had two bathrooms and full-size Miele washer and dryer (separate units, not a combo machine). It was across the street from a bus stop that served multiple lines so we could get close to most of the places we wanted to visit by bus (we used the metro too, but as we were almost never in a rush, we liked traveling above ground and seeing the city).

The second bedroom is quite small (bunkbeds) and overlooks the courtyard; we used it as a storage area for suitcases and shopping. Below is the view we had from the living room and bedroom.


The view is best in late fall/winter when the leaves have dropped, but it's still a great view even in spring and summer.

We stayed in the Paris Perfect Saint Amour apartment for 2 weeks in 2016. The property was beautiful and convenient to transportation. But since then, the rates have tripled, and are close $1000+/night. They have reupholstered the furniture and perhaps replaced some worn pieces but that’s all I noticed. They offer 10-15% discount to repeat clients but still…

Since 2016, there have been enormous changes in Paris in reference to short term rental apartments. By far the majority of what was available in 2016 was illegal and the city now has the tools to enforce the law by fining owners operating illegally up to 50,000€ and forcibly remove apartments from the market.

What remains are two broad categories: those offered by owner/occupants and those offered as commercial apartments. It is very expensive to meet commercial apartment qualifying requirements, which is probably the primary reason prices have increased dramatically.

Short term rentals remain available, but expect to pay a great deal more than in the past.

In May, 2019, we stayed in a very nice apartment at 44 rue de l'Arbre Sec, a block from the Louvre-Rivoli Métro station and a few minutes walk to the Pont des Arts or the Pont Neuf. We were in apartment 44AS-1 Bedroom with our 13-year-old granddaughter who slept on the comfortable sofa bed. The short term rental laws in France have little to nothing to do with rental companies, unless the rental company itself actually owns the property they list. Enforcement action is a function of who owns the property, decided on a case by case basis, not who offers it. Many perfectly legal rental companies have listed illegal properties.

A few years ago, the government, did pass laws outlining fines and other penalties against platforms listing illegally offered properties, the law was challenged, and I am not clear on the current status.

We often rent from Paris vacation apartments and, in the past, have rented one bedroom apartments with washer, dryer and elevator. We have a 3 bedroom apartment rented for this fall and, while shopping around, saw the same apartment (we are paying 5000 euros for the week) advertised on Paris Perfect for $1899/night!

That is really strange. I noticed Paris Perfect has more apartments across Paris, this being one of them. Maybe they are now marking up (!) properties from other agencies.

I imagine France is not unlike Italy in that apartment owners will often list their properties with several agencies. Depending on the agency, there can be significant differences in service fees. We have found it helps to do an image search when you find something you like. You may even turn up the owner and be able to rent directly from them, avoiding service fees altogether.
