Paris Apartment input requested - specific apartments

Anyone stayed here? Comments?

http://www.vrbo.com/139753
http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_228.htm
http://www.rentparis.com/en/apt-29-r...004-paris.html

Any direct recommendations for other places close in that would be good with teenagers?

Thanks

If there are 4 of you then I think you'd find the first 2 apartments a very tight fit.

We've stayed in apartments that size with just our daughter and the pull out sofa fills up all the living space. Very little extra space even for luggage.
No chance for the teens to lie in each morning as they would need to fold the beds away before anyone else could move around!

The 3rd one looks the best to me!

My teenagers are girls and we'll get them up

But seriously, I am looking for first hand experience with the specific apartments from people who have actually either seen the apartments or actually stayed there. Thanks

Our family of 4 rented the apartment in Marais for a week in August--two adults in the bed and the two young children on the trundle bed in the bedroom. We found the apartment very much to our liking, given that we were sharing sleeping quarters. The living space was pleasant, the kitchen was equipped for basic light cooking, and the location was very central to sightseeing. It being summer, there was mild noise that filtered up through the open windows in the late evenings, but that just added to the charm for us.

That said, with older children now I would not rent this apartment because no one would have any "personal" space.

Meant to add that for a subsequent trip to Paris when the children were older, we stayed here and loved it! http://www.vrbo.com/105451.

So from the pics it looks more like a big studio with no divider between the bed and the living area, but the listing says one bedroom? Is there a divider at all? The other place looks good, but we are only in Paris 4, maybe 5 nights so is too pricey (and isn't available anyway)

Ahh, the trundle bed is IN the bedroom. There's a sofa in the separate lounge area.

Indeed, the trundle and queen bed are in one room separated by a door from the living/dining/kitchen, so the apartment has one bedroom. I don't recall whether the apartment had AC; we found the breeze through the open windows to be just fine.

fourfortravel, does the sofa also pull out or are all the beds just in the bedroom at 29 rue-ste-croix-de-la-bretonnerie?

DebitNM, that is a very reasonable price for this location and amenities. Can't wait to hear how you liked it!

Yeah-the only issue for some might be that it is 4th floor walk up which generally means 5th floor US. But nice location, no too far from the river.

It is 3rd floor french, 4th US. That is the one drawback, but I figure we aren't going to be going up and down that much on a daily basis, arrival and departure will be a bit tough.

This is new to the rental market[ for the owners], that is why price is so low. I doubt it will stay that low.

Nice to know-it might be helpful to them when renting it to actually clarify that in some way if they can, since many people actually tend to "add" the extra floor automatically when looking at Paris rentals. I agree it wouldn't stop me, but I mention it for people who have to have the elevator for luggage or just can't manage. We have a number of friends still coming to Paris who are in their 70s, and while they can manage 1 flight, 3 is just too much for them anymore. When they come back during the day, they like easier access.

DebitNM for me a fourth floor walk up would be enough to reduce me to tears at the end of a long day of walking, and I'm pretty fit. Don't forget also, that the ceilings are high in these buildings so it's a lot more stairs than you are probably thinking of. Then you'll do it again after going out for dinner, or if one of you pops out to buy the croissants in the morning. I would definitely look for something not so high up or with an elevator. I'd pay more if necessary.
