Paris-Antony where for nice relaxing breakfast?
We are arriving late into Orly on a Wednesday night. Staying that night at Hotel Alexia-Antony. We want to have a nice relaxing breakfast next morning before boarding the RER to CDG. Anyone know this area? (The hotel offers buffet/contint breakfast, but we want a sit-down/relax/enjoy the atmosphere place.)
PS Outdoor cafe in late October too cold? If not, one of those would be great! Also, how early do cafes open? We need to be on train by 10:30am. Thanks!

I'm assuming you mean the area called Antony which outside Paris, near Orly airport. As far as I know it is mainly a big commercial area, but perhaps someone will have a better idea if there is an actual village center.
I'm not sure about this idea of "nice relaxing breakfast" which is not a common thing anywhere in Paris, except perhaps at hotels. I suspect your options there will be extremely limited, but good luck.

I confirm Antony is a small suburban town, well outside Paris, but with a town centre. As the previous poster suggested, your hotel may be in the town outskirts in a commercial area, with little in terms of eating places. I doubt you will find any British/American breakfast in or around Antony. Also keep in mind the distance between your hotel and the RER station in Antony.

The Alixia is around the corner and about 300 meters from the RER station*, in a peaceful, affluent suburban setting. There are numerous sit-down restaurants in the immediate area - most are open for breakfast.
* Google rer antony and select "Maps." Then click on "Satellite" and zoom in to see all the warehouses and factories in the "big commercial area" NeoPatrick thinks the hotel is in the middle of. While you're at it, also Google 1 ave de la providence antony to map the hotel.

I said, "As far as I know it (Antony) is mainly a big commercial area, but perhaps someone will have a better idea if there is an actual village center."
Robespierre said, "Then click on "Satellite" and zoom in to see all the warehouses and factories in the "big commercial area" NeoPatrick thinks the hotel is in the middle of."
Robespierre, I'm confused. Are you unable to read, or just not able to comprehend the English language? Or are you just having fun twisting people's words? While you're at it, I'm surprised you didn't also attempt to discredit Trudain's comment -- "As the previous poster suggested, your hotel may be in the town outskirts in a commercial area, with little in terms of eating places." Oh, that's right -- that post wasn't posted by me -- no reason to slam it.

Oh my, oh my! I love it when men fight over me!

I certainly didn't mean to get anyone's dander up! (Reminded me of the commercial (in the States) of the Geico caveman who, upon rolling his eyes at a particular statement, is accused of "getting up on the wrong side of the rock".
I appreciate EVERYONE's input. Thank you all. Robesepierre, I'm delighted to find I'm not in the middle of an industrial park!
NeoPatrick, thank you for the clarification; yes it is the "suburb" of Antony.
With renewed vision (which I always have following tragic events like Virginia Tech), I try to put everything else in context. In the vast scheme of things, this is unimportant and certainly not worth all the fuss. But I cannot tell you all how very much I appreciate your assistance. I'm such a worry-wart when it comes to planning. This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip and I don't want to waste a minute of it looking up information that I can find out before departing. So, again, thank you all for being the kind folk you are and putting yourself in someone else's shoes. As my Chicago family says, "I love yous guys."

Why am I in some sort of contest?
Next time drive along the autoroute which according to my map goes through a corner of Antony, right by Orly. You will see rows and rows of corporate offices. Google "corporations in Antony" and you will see dozens of listings. That is the part of Antony where we pulled in to get petrol before returning a rental car to Orly -- and the part of Antony I know.
I apologize my knowledge is not as extensive as yours. But again, my post was to let Ackislander and others know that the name of the hotel probably indicated the town of Antony. And despite your saying the poster specified the town, she really didn't or at least not directly, so Ackislander and others would not have known that Antony was the name of a town. Go back and read the orignal post and tell me how anyone who didn't know that Antony is a town would know it from that post.
Once again (but I realize that you'll still deny it) my post was to point out that Antony was a town, and as I said from my knowledge I knew it had a large commercial area. That's all. Why on earth would someone want to start World War III over such a simple post?

It's not WWIII - it's correcting your mistaken impression, which some might not have realized was qualified with the disclaimer "As far as I know it..."
That corner of Antony near Orly is not typical. As you can see from the Google Maps satellite view, most of the town is residential property, and many streets are lined with shops.
And if anyone needs to know "What is the area?", I suggest they Google paris-antony (from the thread title) and hit "Maps." Although if one doesn't recognize a name, it's unlikely that they will know where to tell a poster they can eat breakfast.

Restaurants open for breakfast in France??? Cafés are open for breakfast. Restaurants do not open for breakfast.
