Paris & Rome Apartments
I'm planning a June family trip with my wife and three teenagers for three nights in Paris and three nights in Rome. We would prefer to rent apartments, but it seems like the minimum rentals are typically for four nights.
Is anyone familiar with apartment rentals that could be booked for three nights? I know that we would apreciate the kitchen and extra space.
Also, we will probably take the train - is the Artesia Night Train the way to go?

In Paris we rented a fabulous apartment. Go to www.lacigaleparis.com and check it out. Minimum 4 nights. I can't say enough about how great it is, and how wonderful and helpful are the owners. I think you should contact them and see if you can do three nights. It is privately owned and they are extremely nice.

You don't mention budget, but in Paris I've rented from guestapartment.fr and in Rome realrome.com. I believe both will rent by the day, though I'm not certain. The rentals on guestapartment are typically more luxurious than those from realrome. I enjoyed both.
Good luck.

Have you looked at vrbo.com? The Paris apartment we rented wouldn't be large enough for your family, but I know you can rent for fewer than four days, just had to pay a higher rate. I imagine there are many apartments with the same pricing schedule.
After our apartment experience I can't imagine a reason for staying in a hotel again. Good Luck!

It will probably be much cheaper to fly one of the budget airlines. You can take Easyjet from Rome Ciampino to Paris Orly and there are other connections from Rome FCO to Paris CDG. If you decide to fly, pay attention to luggage weight restrictions on each budget airline.

your query prompted me to do a bit of web-surfing - large selections of apartments allowing three day rentals can be found on the slow-travel site. This easter we booked in Rome through Italy-accom [confusingly, they call themselves "Rome-accom", "Venice-accom" etc, but they re the same people. THey were very helpful and our apartment was very nice. I'm sure there are a lot of others too.
