Hi fodorites, i am planning on a trip to paris in the month of july. I have put a list of things to be packed like adapters, umbrella, medicine kit, plastic bags to pack used clothes, photocopies of passport and cards, list of phone numbers. What else i am forgetting?.This will be my first trip overseas.I am overwhelmed by the thought of forgetting anything important.Thank you.

hi, sunshine.
there are a number of threads upon this subject, if you search this forum via the search box.
however, should you have forgotten something vital, you are in paris where most anything you can desire may be procured. and you'll have fun finding it!
have a great trip,
regards, ann

I think the essentials in terms of paper are your credit cards, ATM cards, passport, and a list of emergency phone numbers.
On the medicines side, certainly you will take all your presciption medicines in yur carry-on luggage.
On the clothing side, don't take so blooming much! I cut back it seems but nothing shrinks in weight!!

I'd nix the umbrella. Why bother? The chance that it will rain in July is not that great, and if it does, hotels often give you one to use, or you can pick one up at a shop. The only time I packed an umbrella to Europe was the UK and Scotland in December, for obvious reasons!

The best thing about Paris is the wandering so while it is nice to be organized we loved running out of things and going to the store for them. We took the family (boy13, girl 10 and girl 8) last summer and when we discovered we were out of toothpaste it might as well have been a trip to the museum to go to the store to find it. The kids loved how different everyday items looked and we stocked up on a lot of basics. Nothing better on a sleepover back home than to have your french toiletries!
Have a wonderful time!
