paper factory/sevilla
Olga, or those of you that know Sevilla well,
We are leaving for a 16 day trip to Spain on Tuesday. We will be in Sevilla for 3 days. I am a watercolor artist and a teacher recently remembered that when he was last in Sevilla ( several years ago), he visited a paper making factory. Does anyone know if such a factory is still in operation and whether we could visit. My husband speaks Spanish.
Also, does anyone know of a good artist supply store in Madrid, Seville, or Granada? Someone told me that artists paints are sold at hardware stores- true?
We're busily trying to organize last minute stuff. Thanks to all of you for all your help over the past few months of planning.

Hi Margret,
Can't answer your Seville paper factory question, but I'm sure Olga can.
For artists' supply stores in Madrid you could try one of the following:
"Jeco" on Hortaleza #82 or "Jer" on #72, a street running off the Gran Vía, near the Chueca metro.
"Casa Pontes" on Carmen #6 off the Puerta del Sol
"Macarrón" on Jovellanos #2 near the Teatro de la Zarzuela, behind Parliament
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Maribel and Olga. When my teacher couldn't remember the name of the company, I knew it was a long shot.
I've printed out the names of the art stores in Madrid and will check in Corte Ingles as well.
We're off tomorrow night. I'll send a trip report when we return before Thanksgiving. Thanks for all your generous information!
