Palermo on a Sunday??

I will be in Palermo for a weekend in February.
Does anyone know what we can find open on a Sunday? Are market open on the weekends?
Any suggestions for sightseeing would be great.
Thanks
June

I don't think that the open air markets are open on Sundays, but the museums are, as are all of the churches.

When we were in Palermo on a Sunday, we first visited the Cappella Palatina, then went to Mass at the Duomo, then visited the Capuchin Crypt (not for the fainthearted). Since we had a car, we drove to Erice for the rest of the afternoon and had lunch there and wandered around.

No traveler to Palermo should miss the Cappella Palatina and the Cathedral of Monreale, at an absolute minimum.

Thanks very much for the info. We would like to visit a market so we'll make sure to go on Saturday.
