Just had an hour tour of the Painted Hall, definitely worth doing for £10! You get up close and personal with the restoration of a beautifully Painted ceiling (like the Sistine chapel) painted by an Englishman. It is well worth the tour!

For quite a while, this will be the only way to see the Painted Hall, but it is a unique opportunity to get close to what you would in the past have seen (albeit for free) only at a distance, in a mirror or with a crick in your neck, or with binoculars. You get to see where past workers have left their mark on Queen Mary's bosom, for example.....
