Please forgive my ignorance, but where and what is Pag?

It's in Croatia:

By the way, it's short for an opera as well.

I'm familiar with Pag and Cav, but I didn't think one could see and do things in an opera...

Nor is this a music forum...

No, I didn't think that he was asking about opera either -- but I did take your questions on face value: "What or where is Pag?"

In any case, I didn't know either, but it was easy to find the answer via Google.

It's an island north of Zadar, joined to the mainland at its southern end by a bridge. I've only visited it briefly, but it looked very bleak to me as there's not much vegetation.
I can't suggest things to do - even if I knew Pag, I have no idea of the questioner's interests or tastes. I also have no idea why someone should reply to a question about a place if they've never heard of the place.

True, ok, Geoff. I wouldn't have replied, but since Google provided such a handy reply, it was easy to reply with a link to the Pag's tourism site, especially since two others have asked where the place is and I was also curious. Personally I don't see anything wrong with asking where the place is myself.

Perhaps I bothered to post because I was bored and the European game thread is a bit slow -- does that bother you?

I think most people post messages because they're bored (or, at least, have nothing more interesting to do). Of the people who responded to the original question, "111op" had something to say and two did not.

Ah, ok, Geoff -- I'll have to count you in my "inner circle" then.

We passed Pag on the ferry from Rab to -I can't remember where. I agree it looked very barren . It is the home of a particular type of cheese which was available elsewhere in Croatia

I think Pag's best feature are its beaches (sandy, pebbled). Pag is a long island and you'll need a car to visit the most beautiful ones, often hidden in small coves off the beaten track.
Pag old town is beautiful, worth a visit but I wouldn't stay there for more than a day. Novalja is very popular with younger people especially beacuse of the Zrce beach, a beautiful beach with clubs open 24h where party never ends.
A lot of the island is barren, especially the northern shore which reminds of a Moon surface, but I think this is the part of its beauty. Pag's sheep cheese is a heaven.
