St. Petersburg to Tallinn transportation question
We are flying into Helsinki then taking the train to St. Petersburg for 5 nights. In researching transportation to Tallinn, it seems simpler to take the high-speed train back to Helsinki then then ferry to Tallinn rather than a 7-hour bus ride from SP to Tallinn. Am I missing something? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Many thanks.

Yes that seems best - for booking train tickets check www.seat61.com - great advice on possible discounted fares - general train info - BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com.
7 hours on a bus -no way Jose.

There's a comfy train every morning at 06:25 from St Petersburg Moskovsky station arriving Tallinn 12:35, fare 1,293 rubles (about €19).

Thank you all for your replies. I looked at the train schedule from Tallinn to SP as it leaves at a more reasonable time than the reverse journey. We are a bit concerned about arriving in SP around midnight. Any thoughts on safety concerns at this time? Thanks in advance.
