OV Chipkaart question
We will be purchasing 96 hour disposable OV Chipkaarts to use to get around Amsterdam. Can we use it to get from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal station?
We are also planning a trip to Zaanse Schans. Can we use the OV Chipkaart to get there?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The website does not explain it very clearly (or maybe I am not looking in the right spot).

The 96 (or 24,48,72, etc.) hour cards are disposable and you cannot reload them. It is a four day pass for city trams, buses and metro but does not work on the trains, which is what connects the airport to the city. You will buy a ticket at the airport for that. They are still a great value, though.

If you want a card to use on trains as well as Amsterdam public transport you need an anonymous card which you load up with money.
This is not practical for you at this time. Better to buy separate train tickets and a disposable card for Amsterdam.
Make sure you will get your money's worth out of a disposable card - you can walk a lot of the time in Amsterdam and may not end up using it very much at all.
The easiest way to get to Zaanse Schans is by train, (a 17 minute trip) so buy a ticket for that trip. You can get a return ticket to Koog-Zaandijk for €5.30. It is about 15 minutes walk from the station to Zaanse Schans.
