Lois. I am just back from Nice and one of the places we dined in was right on the beach. The food was very good and it was almost directly across from the Ville Vieux. The name of the restaurant was Castel Plage.

Lois, I returned from Nice a few weeks ago. I spent 4 nights at the Primotel Suisse at the start of my trip. I loved it. We were on the 5th floor....the most beautiful view of the Bais des Anges. Our room was recently refurbished, big bathroom, comfortable beds, the reception people were very nice...most helpful to us in obtaining our lost luggage from the airline. I would go back there with out a doubt. Location to old Nice and the Cours Salaya was perfect. Bus station easy to walk to thru old Nice. Took the bus to the train station. We stayed at another hotel for the last two days of our trip at twice the price and longed for the Primotel Suisse. I ate at The Safari on the Cours Salaya twice. Great food, I brought a menu home so that I can gaze at it and remember...Hope you have a great time!! Email me if you have other questions...

Thanks Nancy, the Suisse Primotel sounds wonderful. As a solo traveler the accomadations are not always the best but I'm sure it will be perfect. I will not have a car so will be dependent on buses & trains. Did you take any excursions into hilltowns etc.? Thanks again for your feedback
