Out of what cities/days of the week is it cheapest to fly to Greece?

I am planning to go to the islands in Greece for my honeymoon. Any sugestions as to the cheapest cities in the US flying to Greece to leave from.

Also what days of the week are the best fares for traveling to Greece?

The absolute cheapest is NYC, in particular JFK on Olympic Airlines (non-stops to Athens). Mondays-Thursdays. About $530 in Feb and about $880 in June (to give you a rough idea).

Use this website to try other cities that may be closer to you.

I have not beeen to Greece. However, I strongly suggest you start a new thread title something like: "Best beaches in Greece?" You'll get more and better replys that way.

Hey Matthew. You might want to check gate1travel.com and go-today.com for air/hotel packages. Their rates are always very cheap and you could include a hotel stay in Athens. I think they are pretty good about letting you delay your return flight home after the hotel stay, so you could make your island plans from Athens. Also, they often have relatively low add-ons from other cities.

Considering I just bought a ticket from Air France from San Francisco to Athens in May-June for $658 I'm not so sure that $530 is the best price available from JFK. Using Orbitz I just found a ticket from JFK for February for $501 and $837 for June.

The best fares are for mid-week flights.
