Ostia Antica -Rome
We will be touring around Sardinia and Sicily on the way back to US, we will stop
at Rome for 1 day(October 31-Monday) and would love to see Osita Anitica (we have been to Rome twice, already see most what we want to see).
I was reading some article from Internet and Fodors, but did not find any where said how to get there.
1) Is there any public transportation take you there? and how?
2) Should we stay at Rome city get a tour?
Is there a "one day" tour?
3) Or we should stay at the hotel close to Ostia Antica?
**following day we need to catch 7:30am flight back to US.
4) one of the tour's web said Osita Antica closed at Monday, is that true ?
Your suggestion and information will be appreciated.

Getting to Ostia Antica from Rome is fairly easy. In Rome, take the Metro B to the Piramide stop. Exit and follow the signs (there are plenty) to the "Lido" train. This train will take you to Ostia Antica. Its only about a half hour train ride, from what I remember. From the Ostia train station its about a ten or fifteen minute walk to the entrance to the ruins.
