Orkney Ba'
Orkney Ba' is a pretty old game of Rugby, probably of Viking descent, basically a game of push for 3 to 4 hours along the streets of Kirkwall. This is men's game on Christmas day, there will also be a woman's game and then again for New Year.

You can just see the ball being thrown out into the midst of the two teams. Only 40 a side are supposed to play with two team managers a side pulling people out to rest them while sticking in replacements.

Note the steam rising and the two boots sticking up as someone is up-ended. All street windows are boarded up with 2" beams and it has only been stopped twice, both times for broken legs to be removed and then restarted.
This year it took 4 hours to get to the sea.
