Orangerie reopens-NYTimes

This is in todays Arts Section. Tucked away in the business section, a French lawyer in Paris advises no one over 12 to wear shorts in the city.

Cigalle -- You are SO on top of things!!! Thanks for posting this. I will be in Paris in June/July and have been keeping my fingers crossed that the Orangerie would be open. Merci! You made my day!

The lead to this really good article is actually on the bottom of the Front Page, accompanied by the first of several color fotos. Exciting News!

How great to be in the Water Lilies room when it's nearly empty, as in photo. Any tips how to achieve that, besided being a NY Times photographer?

Hi stokebailey

I actually have a photo of me in the room with the Water Lilies and it's nearly empty. I'm sitting on the bench contemplating and being in awe. How did I achieve this? I was in Paris the first part of February. VERY few tourists. It was wonderful! The Louvre was pretty empty too. So, I guess the answer is to go during the winter. It's a great time to be there.

Hi, they said on TV this morning that it could be delayed because they found an old wall from the 16°c with the works and though the gallery is ready they might open tomorrow or later.
Anyway you're not going today! ;-)

The team of Télématin (morning program)filmed the gallery yesterday and that is what was said to them... they didn't talk about it on the news, it is so much more important to say that Da vinci Code movie was really bad at the Cannes opening.

LOL!! yes, there was a piece in today's "Washington Post" about the movie and it was not very flattering.

I'm hoping by June Orangerie will be open. Am I correct in asuming it is not on the Musee Pass?

Tania, it was before and is currently on the official museum pass website (although listed as closed). I expect it will be.

Me too lol!
I read on TA that someone saw long queues there yesterday but we still don't know if they were allowed in. I can't find any info about that!

I've heard from someone who was there yesterday. She waited over two hours to get in and doubted if there was time left for others to gain entrance. So go early (and keep off the grass!)
