On the midnight train to Granada

Does anyone know what internet site has information on the overnight train from Madrid to Granada? I have looked at many train web sites but can not get a price or exact schedule.

Granada Fr, 23.06.06 arr 08:57
Duration: 9:47; runs not every day, 22. May until 3. Sep
Hint: Prolonged stop in Alcazar

This schedule from the www.bahn.de site indicates sleeping/couchette/seated cars leave Madrid nightly at 23:10 and at Alcazar these cars lay over for 4 hours until joining a Hotel Train probably coming from Barcelona, arriving in Granada about 9am the next morning. I assume you board a sleeping/couchette car in Madrid and don't have to change trains in Alcazar but that's not clear to me.

hmmm, Intrepid, good site for the morning train, I may end up taking it, but no info on sleeper. I may not be seeing how to get that info.
PalQ, we are traveling in October, that may be a problem. Also a "4 hour lay over seems too long" Of course saving the price of a night at a hotel sounds tempting!

Well i think the 4-hour layover is when you'd be sleeping in your comfy compartment - Madrid-Granada is apparently too close for a night train to go straight thru - you'd arrive at 4:30am so i don't think there'd be any problem - maybe even sleep better since they train is standing still for 4 hours waiting for the other night train to arrive to be coupled to it.

InMiami- the easiest way to access the great bahn.de site's English schedule page is to go to: www.budgeteuropetravel.com and on their home page click on the link: All European Railroad Schedules and up pops the English schedule page where you just put in Madrid and Granada and the date and you'll get all the trains. Schedules aren't loaded for Oct buy night train schedules rarely vary - more sensitive to day of the week (some may not run on Sat nights for example) so just put in a date within the next 2 months and you can be fairly sure that that train will run at similar times in October. If you want to book in the U.S. i would recommend Budget Europe (800-441-2387) for their expertise in booking.
