Her cane will come in handy while climbing Mt. Everest, but if she uses a walker, she'll have to leave is at home. And she needs to bring Daisy's leash, as the leash laws are strictly enforced on Everest. Happy hiking to Mary and Daisy, I'll look forward to the trip report.

Yes, the cane and the yellow slicker will be most useful, and who cares if she won't look like a local. Being low to the ground, Daisy will at least not get the worst of the wind up there. Did you see the two little movies on the site?

I didn't see the movies yet, but will definitely watch later. FFRR's are on the US board, it stands for Freaky Friday Rants and Raves. That's our weekly thread where we all get to know each other. Go to the US board and join us!!

This made the rounds at work today via e-mails. MOST people enjoyed it, and I could hear giggles as people played it, sometimes repeatedly. But one person's reaction was that this was a huge international scam to solicit money. Funny I never thought of it that way. I didn't think anyone would actually send her money. It just seemed all in fun. I wonder what the site will say when the countdown to Everest is up. Maybe she's going to stroll in some local mall or park named "Everest"?

"I’m sure we can make it to the top of Mount Everest. We both go for a walk every day and keep ourselves very fit"
This is a quote of hers from the Bahrain Tribune. A very telling statement, to be sure. If only that was all it takes to train for Everest!

I am totally confident that she and Daisy will make it. Beatchick, when you have seem to question their preparedness for Everest I have to wonder if you have seen that hill she climbs? It's fairly big. And they're not messing around with camps and sherpas, just going straight to the top, so they should be back in time for afternoon tea.

And she has received such fine advice from supporters all over the world. My dog and cat have written advising her to carry plenty of dehydrated water. It is easily reconstituted, with the addition of water, and then she will always have a supply of fresh beverage.
P.S. If anyone's reading this thread, if you go to this crazy website, make sure you see the two little movies.

Faux, you are killing me!!
Carol, I think reconstituting dehydrated water is a fine idea. After all, they plenty of snow with which to reconstitute.
I'm just wondering if Mary has thought to bring along a dog-sized oxygen bottle. Well, no matter, there are plenty of discarded half-empty ones up there that she can pick up along the way.
I'm hoping, Faux, that she IS back in time for afternoon tea. Shall we e-mail her suggestions on a restorative type of tea? Camomile, perhaps, to calm her down after her quick trudge up & down this other "hill" or perhaps peppermint for a bit of a pickmeup?
