OK to Go to France These Days???

And I will say the opposite. Anyone who thinks there is a problem with the "Muslim population" is so misinformed that I think that a totally inert destination is in order. I do not even know what is meant by the "Muslim population." Is it the practicing Muslims who wear scarves and pray at the mosque? Is it youths of Arab origin who are upset about discrimination? Perhaps it means potential terrorists who are planning evil deeds? Maybe just any young hoodlum who might attack Americans in the street? People who live with this sort of concept of countries like France really do not need to visit, and they are very much welcome to stay home and eat freedom fries, or as one snooty French diplomat said "back then" (before the U.S. liberated the entire Muslim world) -- "we really don't care what Americans call their potatoes." (Please note that I am American before attacking.)

Hey kerouac, I don't disagree with you but I think the misconception is due to the interpretation of the American media's love of sensationalizing the news. I don't think the OP came up with those subjects out of the blue- it comes from seeing them on the news.

We were on top of the Arc and looked down and a big protest was approaching while we were on top. This was at the end of March. We were not allowed to go down but when we did we walked right out into the middle of a protest but these people were older so no problem. Added to the fun of the trip!
