Off to Scotland the Brave!

Off I go today - my long-planned, much-awaited trip, 2 years in the planning. 6 of us travel today from Florida and California to Scotland. After 24 hours of traveling, we'll be in our Edinburgh apartment tomorrow sometime around 3pm. Wish us safe and boring flights, please!!!

I'll be taking loads of pics, and of course will have a trip report when I'm done. Three weeks in the Highlands and the Islands.

While I will have access during the trip, I shan't be wasting valuable vacation time on this forum, sorry to say - I'll be out sightseeing or enjoying pints in a pub.

Cheers to all who have helped me in the planning of this adventure, and I look forward to meeting up with Sheila in Aberdeen. I love this forum!

GreenDragon, I hope your trip is everything you anticipated and more!! I'll be very interested in your report - it looks like my husband and I might be heading to the Highlands and Islands next June.

I'm living vicariously through you on this trip. It's been fun (and very useful) to follow your research while planning for this trip.

Bon voyage!

Hello GreenDragon,
I am new to this forum, but stumbled across this thread as I was looking into Edinburgh accommodations. I will check back to read about your trip upon your return, hoping to hear a good report about your West Bow apartment. We are excited to be booking it for a week in June 2009!
Hope you are having a wonderful time!

Kim, the West Bow apartment was grand - great location, beautiful inside, and lovely! The 'back door' is just a couple steps from the Royal Mile, and has a little terrace with several pubs along it. The front door is near a great Indian restaurant (Khushi). We had a great time!

Sheila, it was great having lunch with you - sorry it was only 2 of us rather than all 6... the parents were resting and the girls wanted to go see Dunnotter castle Jason and I had a great time with you, though! Thanks!

Welcome back Green Dragon - can't wait to read your trip report - I trust it won't take you NEARLY as long as it did me to write it up. I'm so jealous as we will not be setting foot in Europe this year at all! I guess I'll have to start planning for next year.

GreenDragon, I don't want to rush your report, but can you provide a 10 sentence summary? Inquiring minds want to know!
