Odense or Aarhus

Have 3 days to spend in Odense or Aarhus as part of our trip to Denmark. Considering if we spend 2 in one and 1 in another or base ourselves in one and do a day trip to the other. Grateful for any feedback on these destinations.

I would choose Aarhus because it has more things to do. If you have a car, a drive to the National Park area ENE of Aarhus might provide a nice change from visiting an urban area. You might want to check my trip report; click on my name to find it.

Aarhus lets you go and see one of the bog men pretty easily and is bigger but I prefer Odense as a town but the island has less interesting things on it that the one Aarhus is on.

Don't ignore the little islands to the south, they really do offer beucolic charm and some lovely bike rides.

Denmark has almost as many bike paths as the Netherlands, do take advantage of it.

Thanks Michael & Biloburgler . Great trip report Michael. Sounds like both places have good points so would be ok with either.

but the island has less interesting things on it that the one Aarhus is on.

Minor correction: Aarhus is on the mainland peninsula.

You're right Michael, it just looks like an archipeligo generally, but you are right. BTW the National Park is great.

If you look back two years on my name you'll see my bike tour of the country (but not the mainland that time).
