nuts in checked bag?

my son is going to the Czech Republic via London.. and taking Arizona pistachio's as a gift to a host family in Prague. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is legal to transport nuts in checked bag... i'll try to look on airline/tsa sites but thought you'all would know. thanks!

Why check?

What's the worst thing that can happen?

Nuts put into a checked bag should be fine. It's the carry-on items that are more restricted.

Have a good trip!

I have never heard of any restriction on nuts, either checked or carried on.

I think the relevant question is whether there are any import restrictions on nuts into the Czech Republic.

Hi callalilli, my first thought when I read the title of your post was that I wished the airlines would insist that the passengers that act nuts would have to be put in checked bags, lol.
Have you Googled the entry laws and rules for the Czech Republic? That might help answer your question.

The only time I've heard of problems with nuts is when there's someone on the flight with a severe allergy to them when the flight attendants announce that nuts won't be served and they'd be very pissed off with anyone who opens a packet of salted peanuts

<< my first thought when I read the title of your post >>

... was a very bizarre and gruesome zipper accident...

Best wishes,
