Nova Car Rental - Any Experience with them?

Another poster listed the other day that they had used Nova Car Rental for their car during their trip this month, has any one else used this company? The poster said that Nova was much less expensive than Dan Dooley, I checked and they were. However, you are not given a chance to add extra insurance coverage before you rent with them. The company's website states that they give you an opportunity to add several add on services after contracting. I am very wary of this statement but the price is really good. Would love anyone's information about Nova Car Rental. THANKS !! becky

Hi F,

www.novacarhire.com is a broker. They arrange for a cheaper price for you with a rental agency.

It is quite normal for you to pay for addons at the agency itself.

I have used them without incident.

Hey Becky; Be sure to consider the Excess Insurance. Otherwise, you will have a very high collision deductable. We also have used Nova on mainland Europe, with no problem. Richard

Richard; We will be sure to get excess insurance, something I am sure you know is needed in Ireland. Did you have to commit to a rental before you could find out the cost with excess insurance? becky

Our rental was in mainland Europe and conditions are different. I used my American Express car insurance for collision. In Ireland we used www.carrentals.com and ended up with 'Budget'. Don't remember what the conditions were on renting and when we were able to secure insurance with 'no excess'. I had hired a standard shift. When we got to the Budget counter, they asked if I wanted an automatic and we paid a bit extra. It was a very good decision. What was amazing with Bugdet, the gas was prepaid and then bring it back empty. On returning, they estimated the amount of gas left and reimbursed us for unused gas. Richard
