Norwegian Constitution Day - Oslo or Bergen?

My flight arrives in Oslo on May 15th around 5:30 pm.
My flight leaves Oslo around 8am on the 22nd.

I desire to visit every country in the world, and because I travel multiple times per month...I like to squeeze as many countries as possible into my trips, knowing I will be back later to explore it properly.

I had a plan to visit Sweden, Finland, maybe Tallin, Denmark and such during my short trip to Scandinavia. However, after finding out May 17th is a very big day in Norway, that's kind of thrown my plans off a bit.

I do not yet have anything booked other than my flights.

Knowing that I want to visit lots of countries during this short trip, what would you recommend for an itinerary, keeping in mind I'd like to participate fully in Constitution Day in Norway - somewhere.

Also, thoughts on rental car vs train?

Thank you!

So, after you've had a few hours' visit to all the countries in the world, you're going to start over and explore them all properly? How many lifetimes is that going to take?

Either. May 17th is mostly a big parade with people in Bunad clothing. "participate fully" is waving a Norwegian flag. Bergen is maybe slightly more interesting because it has the Boy's brigades marching as well.

I'd go for Oslo—they are both children's parades anyway, and the route includes the Royal Palace:

People dress formally (for Norwegians) on 17th May - https://www.visitnorway.com/about/hi...-national-day/ - even the watching crowds - this is not the day to wander around in tank top, shorts and flipflops!

I have been in Bergen on the 17th of May (Independence Day, not Constitution Day) and it was a lot of fun. Of course we were invited into the home of locals and it made it even more fun and special.
