I am in the beginning stages of planning a trip for May,2009. We mostly enjoy visiting small towns and enjoying the views. We are not into hiking and outdoor sports. I would like to know if this itinerary is workable.
1) Arrive in Milan early evening and drive to Turin - stay 3 nights -
- day trip to Asti, Alba, Saluzzo
- day to see Turin

2) Drive from Turin, with stops around Lake Maggiore and overnight in Bellagio for 2 nights.
- spend one day visiting small cities on Lake Como via ferry from Bellagio

3) From Bellagio to Merano or Bolzano, through Passo dello Stelvio, 3 nights.
- Day trip through mountain area - Chiusa, Ortisei, Brunico, Cortinia d' Ampezzo
- Day spent visiting Merano & Bolzano

4) Drive from Bolzano/Merano to Mantua with stops at Sirmione, Punta di San Viglio & Riva del Garda on Lake Garda - Possible stops at Roverto and/or Trento before we reach Lake Garda - Spend 2 nights in Mantua
- Full day to explore Mantua or drive to Parma & Modena.

5) Drive from Mantua to Bergamo and spend the day - Finish up at a hotel near the airport for an early departure the next morning.

I would appreciate advice from anyone who have traveled this area. Thanks.
