All that zepp says about Venice may be true, but it a unique experience and one that should be seen at least once. I don't think u need to be interested in art or arch. to enjoy Venice -- just wandering around and getting lost & sitting in a cafe watching people is great fun. Ride down the grand canal and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Vicenza is a charming town with or without checking out Palladio's architecture. It is not horribly over touristed and just a lovely town to explore and enjoy. It was one of my favorites in NITaly. That said, there is much to see and many, many charming villages and towns, so any u pick will be just fine. U may want to choose one that is a bit closer so less time travelling.

hello; I was wondering if anyone is still living in Treviso; we are moving back there and are wondering about sending our kids to primary school; and will be commuting to the base; about 1 hour away in aviano.
