Normandy Hotels & e-mail addresses

We are going to Normandy for 4 days in late Nov. 2002. I'm looking for very nice small places to stay that I can book over the Internet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would give a B- to Escale du vitou near Vimoutiers.

http://www.normandy-tourism.org/gb/0...ne/logis35.htm but no e-mail though. Did respond to fax.

I give a solid B/B+ to Hotel Chanteclair in Arromanches.

www.arromancheshotel.com/index_us.htm

e-mail at [email protected]

And a destination you might not be considering: in Etretat, we really enjoyed Villa Bligny; more of a house than hotel, but with daily maid service. No meals IN the building, but breakfast available just down the street at a sister property if you choose.

http://www.proximedia.com/local/fran...s/produit3.htm and no e-mail here either, but responded to fax also.

stayed at both of these places; investigated quite a few others, but did not choose, or could not secure availability from a number of others (short notice in September).

Best wishes,

Rex
I don't know what you mean by "very nice small" but we LOVED the Château de la Bellefontaine just outside Bayeux.

And we loved Chateau de Sully just outside Bayeux. It's in the Chateaux & Hotels de France group which have several hotels in the area.

We just returned from France, having spent four nights at a horse farm outside Bayeux (close to Cahagnes). Our host was charming and spoke English. Check out http://www.itea2.com/GDF/analyse_par...p;ORI=FED& for his place, or http://www.gites-de-france.fr/eng/ to search for country b&bs all over France.

Hi, Katherine,

Another vote for Chateau de Sully. It's 2km from Bayeux, on the road to Arromanches. Great location, wonderful grounds, very nice rooms (we did superior doubles), indoor pool, fantastic restaurant (Michelin 1* -- book ahead of time). Can't say enough good things about it.

Their e-mail: [email protected]

Have a great trip.

John H
John H
