Normandy and Paris

I have posted a trip report, but for some reason, it is hard to find. It does not come up when Normandy is entered in the search box. I am trying again to make it easier to find. Lots of nonsense in my trip report, but a few items that may be useful to those planning a trip.

Just click on my name "kansas" above and it should come up.

There is a process called "indexing" which is required for anything to be retrieved by a search. There used to be a frequent problem of indexing being seriously delayed, but it seems to have been fixed. Maybe back again?

It's not just Normandy. Search your name (not click on your name)... or mine. You'll find no entries newer than about ten days ago.

Maybe write to [email protected] to ask them about how/when the indexing could be updated.

I used to do that all the time.

Best wishes,

Rex

Thanks for the info, Rex. I wanted our friends who went with us to read the report, and our kids. And when I had people put my name in, absolutely nothing was coming up. I had to have them back into it by putting in the word Vouilly, getting an old post of mine, and then hitting my name. Even Chateau de Bouceel would not bring my name up. And you may have seen how I went on and on about that!! The fun of the report is reading people's comments! I know how much I enjoyed reading other Fodorites' trip reports as we were planning our trip Thanks again. At least now I know it was nothing I did wrong.

Thanks for keeping track of this, Rex. I thought I would just give it time to fix itself. But I just e-mailed Fodors a note requesting that they index my report correctly. Thank you for providing me the address! Hopefully this works!

I am now thinking about a trip to Provence! So, I really do rely on the indexing to help me with my searches for information.

Over a month passed (since the trip report to which "kansas" refers) - - and still no updating to the indexing! What gives, Fodors staff?

Thanks for your interest in this, Rex! I did (as you suggested) e-mail the editors of Fodors and have heard nothing.

I am trying to figure out my next trip (Provence) and it makes me wonder if there is info I am missing out on....
