Newly reopened Romantic museum in Madrid
We missed seeing this, but for anyone going to Madrid from now on, this might be a charming little museum to visit.

It took long enough to re-open-hopefully it's worthwhile.Years ago it had a great gift shop and when the museum closed they moved the shop just off of the Plaza Mayor but it wasn'nt the same. I'm curious to see what they've done with the shop.
There was also a great gify shop at the Reina Sofia but now both shops carry just books!!! What were they thinking!

Oh my god! A MUSEUM BOOKSHOP that carries just books! Not refrigerator magnets and coffee mug? Or calendars? No jewelry or scarves? Not even key chains and totes? Indeed- what were they thinking? That a museum might be a place of scholarship?
Oh, don't make me laugh! Boy -- that kind of thinking belongs in a museum. How quaint!

stepsbeyond-totallt uncalled for and obviously you have never visited the Reina Sofia, Prado or Thyssen. They all sell prints of their paintings etc.The Reina sofia used to carry beautiful items handcrafted by Spanish aritisans and what a great venue to promote these items. Now they sell really boring BOOKS and the stores are just about EMPTY!People just wander in/out.How sad is that! Are you aware of how much revenue is need to maintain museums all over the world?
