Venere is probably my favorite booking site, especially since they do not require that you prepay. A credit card is required to book through them, but that is for the protection of the hotel, in case you are a no-show, in which case you are, of course, charged for at least the first night. I've used Vnere lots of times and have never had a bad experience with them.

The original poster does, indeed, earn credits if you use the discount code provided. However, I've investigated this before and have felt that there is no harm done. However, if I were Fodors, I would delete those types of posts, because I think they are a form of spamming.
