Need restaurant recommendation and sightseeing for Brugge
Hi - I'm looking for 2-3 good restaurants in Brugge for this weekend. also - if you had 2.5 days, what would you do? One day will be spent in Ypres but the rest is up for grabs. Staying at Atel BRYGHIA BRUGGE. Anyone stayed there as well? Thanks!!

A group of us stayed at the Bryghia. It is well located, just a few minutes walk from main square but very quiet.Our rooms were large and clean and the small sitting room downstairs pleasant..good breakfast too!
One inexpensive place close by for lunch or a light dinner..Trium..Italian..great pizza and my DH had a really good pasta with mussels. Tom's Diner is also nearby..don't let the name fool you!Very very good Belgian food.
I hope that you'll be able to stay in Ypres for "Last Post"..sometimes they have special evenings with regimental bands from UK or Canada. But even if they don't it is an especially moving event.

Mussels special: Breydel and Deconinck in the Breydelstraat between Grote Markt and Burg
Other: Restaurant Aneth (Maria van Boergondielaan)
As long as you stay away from the great market place and its immediate surroundings, you should be ok in Brugge.
Besides these, you'll find, while strolling, lots of little or simple cafés or restaurants serving some simple meals of good quality. You could also try La Brasserie Forestière in the Academiestraat.

And have a look at http://www.brugge.be/toerisme/en/index.htm in the section 'popular walks'.

thanks everybody - it will just be my husband in Brugge/Ypres over the weekend. While he spends a great deal of time in Europe on busines, he spends each weekend there exploring different cities on his own. I usually do the due dilligence about the area with help from fodors and pass it along to him. Its great to have a list of things to do and places to check out at hand without him spending a lot of additional time on the web after hours.
