Antwerpen Centraal: inside, the building is completely renovated. Last week the new dome has been revealed to the public. I can tell you, it is amazing.
Until Aug 2008 they are restoring the front façade (where the main entrance is). From Sept 2008 till June 2009 the other façades are being repaired and sandblasted. To get rid of 85 years of dirt takes a while!
In the same time frame the eight towers, that adorned this railway cathedral until 1958, will be put back, as well as the decorations on the façades, amongst which a pediment with two bronze lions. Should be finished by April 2009.
Antwerp Central station is really worth seeing, even if it's under scaffolding for a bit.
If you want to interrupt your yourney in Antwerp, make sure to ask for a 'VIA' ticket in Brugge.
