Need hotel recommendations for 6th in Paris

When we are in Paris, we usually stay at the Hotel Buci Latin on Rue de Buci in the 6th. Unfortunately, they are completely booked for the dates we are looking at in May, and we'd like to stay as close to that as possible. (Our fav wine bar is around the corner, cute shops, great location, etc). <BR><BR>Anyone familiar with that neighborhood have recommendations of good hotels on Rue de Seine, Rue Dauphine? (Hotel D'Aubusson is also booked). Thank you in advance!

You may want to check the Relais St. Sulpice in the 6th. It is a favorite of ours and there have been many positive postings here. Good luck!

We stayed recently at Le Regent on Rue Dauphine and liked it very much. They have two sizes of rooms and will e-mail you with the exact sizes. The rooms have a safe, mini refrig and baths have hair dryers. I believe prices are single/double FF750 and FF1150 depending on the size of the room.

Did you try the Hotel Left Bank St. Germain? It is caddy corner to the Buci and is next door to Le Procope?

The Hotel Dauphine is not bad, although the rooms are small. Did you try the Prince de Conde? And what about Rue Jacob? There are many nice hotels there, the Millesime ( same ownership as the D' Aubusson), Les Deux Continents? They are not as stylish as the Buci Latin, but they are comfortable. There's also the Hotel de Buci ( not Buci Latin).

The Hotel de Fleurie is very nice, I guess it's on Rue Gregoire de Tours, two or three blocks from Rue de Buci. Relais Christine and Relais St. Germain are also very nice hotels.

I know what you mean about the immediate area, it's my favorite also. Many of the above recommendations are good. I have stayed at Relais St. Germain, which is wonderful, but pricey, and have visited at Relais Christine -- the same is true of it.<BR>Stayed twice at Hotel Left Bank (Best Western) which is on Rue de Comedie next to Le Precope, so I imagine you know where it is. It was fine, but we opted for a delux room as the others were small, and as a result ours was very dark -- but certainly nice. Last time we stayed at Le Regent which is just a couple doors from the corner of Rue Buci on Dauphine. So far it is our favorite hotel in the immediate area. Again we opted for a deluxe room (as mentioned above, it is the larger room) which was very nice indeed, quite roomy, and very well decorated with an excellent bath. The Hotel de Buci has tiny, tiny rooms, but well decorated, just a little clautrophopic for me and if I recall really overpriced by comparison with the value at the hotels mentioned above.

We stayed at Hotel Clement for five nights recently and were very pleased, despite some less than rave reviews from this forum. The location was great, three nearby Metro stops, and on a quiet street. Our triple was $117 nightly, close quarters, but most of our time there was for sleeping! The people at recepton were very helpful with taxi, and also made train reservations for us. For our budget, I would stay there again.

I also had difficulty booking a hotel in the 6th for my upcoming trip in late April. Everywhere I called in the 6th was booked! I eventually ventured over to the 7th and was able to book a room at the Hotel Duc de Saint-Simon. I've never stayed there, but other helpful people on this forum said they loved it there. The hotel is on a quiet street right off of St. Germain and sounds wonderful. Good luck!

Hotel Bel Ami is in the area and is the same style (modern/design hotel-ish) as Hotel Buci Latin.<BR><BR>Am currently living in Paris and have friends who have stayed there are raved about it.<BR><BR>Unfortuntely, I can't find a link that works for the hotel, but, here's a link to a review of it (with a photo...), that also has contact info:<BR><BR>http://www.instyle.com/instyle/read/..._Sleep,00.html

Jen hi! It's rather late to find exactly what you like for May, esp. in the St.-Germain area. A lot of people have their favourite places there and book months ahead. Make some intensive search with www.paris-touristoffice.com.<BR>There are a lot of nice places around in the 6th, just narrow down your search by typing in the area or even better the métro stop you want to stay close to. You can also check the availabilities at the required date and still book directly with the hotel.<BR>The "Bel Ami" has some 115 rooms and is at Rue St.-Benoit between the "Flore" and the "Deux-Magots". You might be lucky and find something there.<BR><BR>Bonne chance!<BR>

I stayed at Le Clos de Medicis in December and it was wonderful. On Rue Monsieur le Prince in the 6th. Odeon Metro stop. Nice rooms, safes in the closet, hairdryers, great breakfast and wonderful staff.

Last September when we couldn't get a room in the 6th, we stayed at the newly renovated Pont Royal, next door to the Montalembert ( where we have also stayed),and right on the border of the 6th. We have stayed in the Duc de St.Simone, but our favorite of those above is the Relas St. Germaine.<BR>Good Luck..<BR>Laura

Jen:<BR><BR>You may have found an hotel already but if not, I stayed at the Hotel Relais du Vieux Paris (great location, truly wonderful, friendly service and charming comfortable rooms)<BR><BR>http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75006vieuxparis.htm<BR><BR>If you are willing to go further south to the 14th would recommend the L'Aiglon (large rooms for Paris) or the Raspail (very well decorated and close to the "hub" of Montparnasse. Descriptions of both can be found ont he same website.<BR><BR>Good luck finding an hotel. May can be a challenge. The above web-site bailed me out several times when I left it late to find an hotel. I would just blast off a dozen notes to various hotels and usually had at elast three responses by the morning.<BR><BR>Regards ..... Ger

Tout a fait! I love the 6eme but, I love staying in the 7eme. Hotel de l'Universite is a small, charming hotel <BR>in the center of the 7eme. You can stroll to the d'Orsay or walk rue Universite to rue jacob and be in the heart of St. Germsain des Pres. Very quiet, rooms are charming..albeit a bit small. The best rooms have balconies over the courtyard. A fine 3* hotel. <BR>Bonne Chance.
