Need hotel rec for Fussen area

Hubby and I will be staying in Fussen for one night, possibly two, to enjoy the castles. We are looking for a bit more upscale accomodation - maybe 150-250 euros a night. It would be nice if it had a view of the castles but not necessary.

Any suggestions?

Hi jenblase,
I'm not sure if this would fit the bill, but we can highly recommend the Hotel zum Hechten in Fuessen. We stayed there twice (in Oct. '01 and Oct. '03). Rooms are nice, breakfast buffet was very good, the front of the hotel is on the pedestrian zone while rooms w/balcony have views of Fuessen castle (not Neuschwanstein of course). Also, free parking behind the hotel.

It's about 10 miuntes drive to Neuschwanstein/Hohenschwangau from here.

Hope this helps.

Paul

I stayed at the Hotel zum Hechten and found it to be a great bargain. I had dinner at the Hirsch, though, which seemed much more upscale.

It has been a while but we enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Kurcafe. Very nice rooms, great included breakfast, and right in town so evening strolls are easy. Also had free secured parking as well.
